During a recent meditative journey, I was given a gift by a Tibetan monk. We were stood on an arched walkway high up in the mountains and he told me he wanted to give me a gift. I smiled and held out my hand and he placed in it a small beautifully coloured songbird. The bird started singing a song that filled me with love and appreciation and then flew off. The thought came to me... Why would somebody give me a gift that they knew would fly away never to be seen again. It was then I realised that the gift was not the bird itself but the memory of the bird singing in my hand. That was the gift. It was a gift that will remain with me for all time, maybe even through different incarnations. this has really changed the way I view material things, and made me realise that the memories of beautiful moments are probably the greatest gift of all. Love and Light, Tim
