Help needed

A call for help! My son of 7years is suddenly suffering from extreme anxiety and showing symtoms of OCD.
I am desperatly trying to find out if any one out their has experience in healing this type of thing or could help to identify the causes of it. He was a very happy intelligent child up until two weeks ago, he suddenly changed!
I was wondering if their is a way of sending out a message to all members to ask for help/advice on this?

I'm a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy really works very well with OCD and symptoms of anxiety. The causes can be a host of things-more often than not the OCD is a way of protecting loved ones from the thing he fears most. Has there been a death in the family recently (could be a pet's death too), or any arguments or ill health- with children I often find that these are things they are trying to stop from happening-not always the case but often. The anxiety would often escalate to becoming OCD. I would recommend CBT therapy as well as EFT therapy (Emotional Freedom Technique) both very child friendly.

One thing to perhaps ask is what is he afraid of most... and there may be some clues in his answer.

It is possible that he is bottling up something that is causing him daily stress. This can be a number of mundane things such as- school stress, bullying, feeling unfulfilled or lonely. But first priority is to see a counsellor on the nhs, which will be free if you go through the local doctor and plea with him/her. Get back tome on this. Namaste; ▶ Reply to This

He had a panic attack a couple of times while dropping him at school (never happened before) he also is showing repeatitive behaviour as well. Have tried to discuss it with him, though promises me that he is fine and he that it will pass. I can only assume that energies are shifted and that he is aware of what is going on. He is in tune with angels and has a deep knowing of this world. This lasted approx 8 weeks and he is now doing okay. Hope it helps xxx; ▶ Reply to This
